Need More SAT Practice? Take an Official Practice Test
When the SAT underwent an overhaul in 2016, many students and tutors became worried that the amount of available practice materials was too low. College Board released its official SAT Guide, which contained 4 practice tests, but that was it. Thankfully, things have changed. Now that the new SAT has been administered for over a year, there are 8 official practice tests, and a new one comes out every few months. If you’re looking to take an official SAT practice test, look no further. This page contains links to ALL the official practice tests currently available for the new SAT.

Tips for Taking Practice Tests at Home
If you’re going to take a practice test, here’s some advice to help you make the most of your experience.
- Follow the time constraints strictly.
- Take the test in one sitting, if possible. That’s what you have to do when you take the real SAT, right? Many students find they simply haven’t developed the focus and stamina to sit through a four-hour test, and if you haven’t practiced several times, the experience might be more difficult than you think.
- Understand what you missed and why. I can’t stress this enough. Don’t just learn what you missed and forget about it. Re-enter the problem over and over again so that you NEVER miss it again. Learn what concept is being tested or what “type” of question you missed, and RECOGNIZE similar questions in the future.
- PRINT the practice test out and take it on paper. You’ll be taking the real SAT on paper, right? It’s easier to gloss over information on a screen than it is to gloss over information on paper.
- Use a PENCIL, not a pen. Again, you’re going to be using a pencil for the SAT, right?
- Bring your practice test to your 1-on-1 tutoring session. Together, you and your tutor can work to understand the mistakes you made, why you made them, and how to avoid them in the future.
- Aim to take at least 4 practice tests before you take your first SAT. Aim to take the official SAT at least twice, ideally four to five times.
- It is NEVER too early to start. I’ve worked with seventh-graders on SAT prep before, and guess what? They’re glad they started early.
- Take the practice test early in the morning. Simulate real test conditions if possible.
- Good luck!
